Norge – The Man

“Norge” is a nick name Erik’s P.E. teacher gave him in grade 8 and it is one of those things that just stuck.

Born in Norway before settling to Australia with his mother, father and big sister in 1970 where he lived in and around north Queensland.

35 plus years exposure in the mining industry from his foundation through a Heavy Diesel Mechanic traineeship, Norge has been employed in several dimensions within the industry from doing the smoko runs as an apprentice through to tradesman and stepping up to supervisor, field service manager and country maintenance manager.

Norge has worked in remote areas (in some occurrences with very limited resources and support, you had to think on your feet and make it happen), such as Australian hard rock & coal mines, expat callings in gold mines throughout PNG with exploration Heli-Rigs, the proverbial middle of …Egypt, Pakistan, Eritrea, Tanzania and Serbia, not to mention a stint on a Gulf Prawn Trawler in the capacity of engineer for a couple of years. These experiences have taught key learnings to Norge that can be defined by words like dedicated, passionate, respect and ownership.

With experience in heavy mobile equipment, fixed plant, large shop air and mobile compressors supported by air booster units, custom built equipment and modification improvements
Attention to detail, customer support and communications as well as give an ol’ school care factor & attitude to respect and ownership are what makes Norge tick. It has to be done right and the clients machines have to get back to production to ensure their business unit is profitable, get this easy step right and they will come back when they require satisfaction, assistance and a genuine bloke they can easily approach to rely on.

When he is not meeting and satisfying customer requirements, Norge likes to wet a line with his fiancée, tinker in the shed or just relax with a bit of gardening. Steady sunset walks on the beach with the family (the misses & dog) is also a pleasurable timeout he shares in customarily.
